Characters

Starr McCready — A debutante, whose vision of love can’t be satisfied by mortal man, Starr seems to be looking for “cosmic romance.” She’s a bit wild and uninhibited for the time period — 1959.  Starr’s life changes forever when her old friend, Helen Preston, returns to the area and introduces her to a new philosophy of subtle kissing practiced by a female secret society.

Helen Preston — A magnetic, seductive figure to men and women alike.  Men pursue her.  Women want to benefit from her experience.  She is an initiate of a secret New Orleans society dedicated to emulating sisterhoods of earlier eras who dispensed kisses that had cosmic consequences.  She is one of the Electric Girls.

Mrs. Duboisgobey — The mysterious Mrs. Duboisgobey, a refugee from the takeover at the Cherryvale Institute — a psychic research center in Texas — is the co-head of a secret society of female occultists.  A clairvoyant, her experiments will prove that women are the source of ultra-powerful psychic energies.  Essential to her success: finding and harnessing the power of the magical metal discs.

Countess Gabriella Spaletti — Stylish, provocative and aristocratic, Spaletti — a sometime-researcher at the Institute and partner in the takeover — also wants to locate the metal discs so she can explore their mystical secrets with her beautiful, psychically-gifted protégé.

The Professor — "Red River" Dave, a.k.a. the "Professor," was right-hand man to the head of the Cherryvale Institute before the coup.  His mentor’s wife has gone into hiding, taking important artifacts and documents coveted by Countess Spaletti and her crew.  The "Professor" and Mrs. Duboisgobey have continued their work in exile in Florida.

Sugar Bob — A handsome, debonair Texan with a Svengali-like influence over women, he is the recruiter for the experiments of his friend, the "Professor." No stranger to magnetic kissing, Sugar Bob shares these new kinds of kisses with his many girlfriends.

Force Faraday — The first of Starr’s rejected fiancés, Force thought it was over between the two of them — until the night of the big party.  Now, two years later, passion flares anew, ending with a soul-searing kiss that opens new possibilities.  Or does it?
